Public Oversight

File a Complaint

The Nevada Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners reviews complaints concerning licensees and applicants under Nevada law. Use this page to understand who may file, what information to include, and how the review process may proceed.

Who May File

Anyone May Submit Information

A complaint may be submitted by a patient, family member, employer, licensee, public agency, or another person with relevant information. Complaints should be factual, specific, and supported by available records or documents.

Include the name of the person or entity involved, dates, locations, a clear description of the conduct at issue, and copies of any records, correspondence, or other materials that may assist the Board in its review. Filing a complaint does not by itself determine that a violation occurred.

Complaint Process Overview

This summary is provided for public guidance and should be read together with the Board’s governing statutes, regulations, and official complaint form.

Potential grounds

Potential grounds may include conduct that violates NRS Chapter 630A, applicable regulations, Board orders, or other professional requirements within the Board’s jurisdiction.

What to include

Provide names, dates, contact information, a detailed statement of facts, and copies of documents or other evidence that support the complaint. Incomplete submissions may limit the Board’s ability to evaluate the matter.

Board review

After a complaint is received, the Board may review the submission to determine whether the allegations fall within its authority and whether additional information is needed before further action.

Investigation

If warranted, the matter may be investigated. The Board may gather records, request written responses, or seek other information relevant to the allegations.

Attorney General involvement

In matters requiring legal review or formal proceedings, the Office of the Nevada Attorney General may become involved consistent with the Board’s statutory authority and enforcement process.

Possible outcomes

A complaint may be dismissed if the facts do not support a violation or if the matter is outside the Board’s jurisdiction. If violations are substantiated, disciplinary action may be pursued as authorized by law.
