Protecting public health

To protect public health, safety and welfare through a self-supporting program of examination, licensing, and regulation of physicians practicing homeopathy and integrative / alternative medicine.

As Nevadaโ€™s regulatory board for homeopathic medical practice, the organization provides a clear framework for licensure, renewal, oversight, and public accountability while supporting access to accurate board information.

Board structure and composition

The Nevada Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners consists of six members appointed by the Governor. After the initial terms, the term of office of each member is 4 years.

The board is designed to provide professional oversight together with public representation, supporting balanced decision-making for Nevada residents and licensees.

Composition

Professional representation

Two members must be licensed allopathic or osteopathic physicians who practice homeopathic medicine in Nevada, have practiced homeopathic medicine in Nevada for more than 2 years before appointment, are actively practicing homeopathic medicine in Nevada, and are Nevada residents. One member must be an advanced practitioner of homeopathy holding a valid certificate granted by the Board pursuant to NRS 630A.293.

Community safeguards

One member must represent the interests of persons or agencies that regularly provide health care to patients who are indigent, uninsured or unable to afford health care. The remaining two members must not be licensed to practice any healing art in any state and must meet additional independence and Nevada residency requirements.
