Public Protection Through Regulation
To protect public health, safety and welfare through a self-supporting program of examination, licensing, and regulation of physicians practicing homeopathy and integrative / alternative medicine.
The Nevada Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners consists of six members appointed by the Governor. After the initial terms, the term of office of each member is 4 years.
Structure
Board Composition
Two members must be licensed allopathic or osteopathic physicians who practice homeopathic medicine in Nevada, have practiced homeopathic medicine in Nevada for more than 2 years before appointment, are actively practicing homeopathic medicine in Nevada, and are Nevada residents.
One member must be an advanced practitioner of homeopathy holding a valid certificate granted by the Board pursuant to NRS 630A.293. One member must represent the interests of persons or agencies that regularly provide health care to patients who are indigent, uninsured or unable to afford health care and must have resided in Nevada for at least 3 years.
The remaining two members must not be licensed to practice any healing art in any state, must not have immediate family ties to a person licensed to practice any healing art, must not be actively engaged in administration of a medical facility or facility for the dependent, must not have a pecuniary interest in such a facility except as a patient or potential patient, and must have resided in Nevada for at least 3 years.
